IO-Link is your industrial device level data connection
IO-Link is a bi-directional serial data link which uses the standard wiring which connects many existing presence, proximity, level and flow sensors to convey data from indvidual devices on to a fieldbus or via a gateway to Ethernet and potentially the cloud.
The indvidual sensors perform their primary function using the existing wiring, while the 'invisible' IO-Link data is collected via a gateway providing additional information on status or device performance that can provide valuable insight regarding maintenance or operational improvements.
